Did you know December and January are when gyms sell the most gym memberships? Sometimes it even works, but rarely for very long. Instead, here are some easy ways to get motivated to lose weight (and then stay motivated once you’ve started!): Be nice to yourself. One of the hardest parts is admitting and then deciding to lose weight so congratulate yourself for doing that! The negative records that play in ...

With the holiday season gearing up into full swing, most of us are more concerned about how big of a turkey (and then tree) to get than we are about our flexible spending account through work. Financial experts will tell you that is a big mistake – if you have a medical flexible spending account (FSA) through your employer and you don’t use that money by the end of the year then you’ll lose it. That’s right – use it or lose it. This is also the time of year for open enrollment for employee benefits, so if you haven’t been taking advantage of your ability to save through a FSA...

Back pain comes in many different forms and is one of the most common disorders that people suffer from. Some causes of back pain can be: poor posture, improper lifting techniques, or even a herniated disc. Back braces can help alleviate the pain and are best used when the attention is focused on the correct area. Here are four unique products that can help relieve back pain.
shoulders back posture support
The ShouldersBack Posture Support is perfect for those with pain around the upper back and shoulder region. This back support brace works by training the shoulder muscles to stay slight back, resulting in a much better posture and less back pain. The ShouldersBack was created with comfort in mind; the light weight comfortable allows you to wear the brace virtually anywhere and can also be worn over or under clothes.

Saunders Posture S'port Support

The Saunders Posture S’Port Support is for those that feel pain on the full back and shoulders. The specialized straps gently pull the shoulders, spin and lower back into a more natural position which helps to decrease back and shoulder pain. The under-arm straps are covered with a comfortable, soft fabric so you won’t even notice the brace is there! Like some back support braces this can be worn under or over clothing.

Orthopedic Back Brace

If you are experiencing lower and middle back pain you might want to look at the Orthopedic Back Brace. This brace helps to stabilize and support the lower back while preventing soft tissue injury when worn during or after an activity. This particular back brace is helpful for those with scoliosis and features four standard conformable lumbar inserts that provide firm, comfortable support while maintaining good posture. The Orthopedic Back Brace is hospital recommended and can fit over and under clothes.

Posture Aid Clavicle Splint

For upper back and shoulder region back pain there is the Posture Aid Clavicle Splint. The unique figure 8 helps to trigger your muscle memory thus improving posture and avoiding long term back pain problems. The Velcro straps can be adjusted for a comfortable fit and the soft padding on the shoulder straps make it feel as if the brace wasn’t there! The Posture Aid Clavicle Splint can also be worn over or under clothing and is lightweight and comfortable.

I’m looking for a brace that will keep my upper back and my right should immobilized. Was involved in M.V.A and have been telling dr. after dr. I need a body cast from the middle of my back to my right shoulder to immoblize it. Will the shoulder back support keep me from moving my right shoulder? The posture aid for the clavicle looks like it might put pressure on muscles under arm, which are injured also.

The Bauerfeind OmoTrain Shoulder Support or the GivMohr Arm Sling would probably be better choices if you are dealing with pain as opposed to correcting bad posture. Bauerfeind products are great because they are lightweight and VERY effective for treating a number of injuries. Professional athletes even use them. To help with the healing process, I would suggest checking out the Thermotex Shoulder Infrared Heating Pad. Thermotex uses far infrared technology to penetrate deeper into human tissue than any other heating pads, increasing blood flow to affected areas and improving the healing process. I use a Thermotex pad for my knee and my back and it works wonders.
